SPLITTER CONNECTIONS

 
 

 

 

 

 

Configuration : UT300R2U - Wireless (Type II) Modem        (Flash Hands-on)

Before going in for configuration or changing password Assign IP Address to the NIC

 

Step-1:    Open internet explorer, type 192.168.1.1 in IE Address bar and press Enter.

Step-2:    Type Username as admin and password  as admin and click on Log In Button.

Step-3:    Click on Interface Setup Button on the top row.

Step-4:    Scroll down the page, delete the default username and password and Type the Username and Password as given by BSNL. Scroll down the page further.

Step-5:    In the TCP MTU Option Text Box, delete the default value 1500 and type 1492 and click on SAVE button.

 

If you are going to use laptop with this modem as a Wireless Access Point CLICK HERE

Otherwise continue to Step-6

 

Step-6:    Click on Advanced Setup on the top row.

Step-7:    Click on the ADSL Link, just below the Advanced Setup link.

Step-8:    Click on the ADSL Mode drop down list, select Auto Sync-Up option and click on SAVE button.

Step-9:    Click on Maintenance button on the top row.

Step-10:  Click on SysRestart link in the second row.

Step-11:  By default Current Settings Radio Button is selected. Click on RESTART button.

Step-12:  "Please wait for reboot complete!" message box will appear. Click on OK button.

Step-13:  After sometime, "Reboot Complete!" message box will appear. Click on OK button.

 

Now the Log In screen will appear again. Now close the Internet Explorer. Allow the lamps to settle. You have successfully configured UT300R2U modem for non-wireless working.

 

Having configured the modem, go to internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties again and take off the IP Address assigned by selecting Obtain IP address automatically radio button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wireless Configuration:

 

Step-6:    Click on Wireless button on the second row.

Step-7:    In the SSID Text box delete the default value, and type an ID. (This is the ID with which, your wireless network will be identified. This can be your name or your organisation's name.)

Step-8:    Click on the Authentication Type drop down list and select WPA-PSK.

Step-9:    Type a Password (Minimum 8 Characters) in the Pre-shared Key Text box. (This is the password with which, you can enter into the wireless network identified by the SSID)

Step-10:  Scroll down the page and click on SAVE.

Step-11:    Click on Advanced Setup on the top row.

Step-12:    Click on the ADSL Link, just below the Advanced Setup link.

Step-13:    Click on the ADSL Mode drop down list, select Auto Sync-Up option and click on SAVE button.

Step-14:    Click on Maintenance button on the top row.

Step-15:  Click on SysRestart link in the second row.

Step-16:  By default Current Settings Radio Button is selected. Click on RESTART button.

Step-17:  "Please wait for reboot complete!" message box will appear. Click on OK button.

Step-18:  After sometime, "Reboot Complete!" message box will appear. Click on OK button.

 

Now the Log In screen will appear again. Now close the Internet Explorer. Allow the lamps to settle. You have successfully configured UT300R2U modem for wireless working.

Changing Password            (Flash Hands-on)

Before going in for changing password Assign IP Address to the NIC

 

Step-1:    Open internet explorer, type 192.168.1.1 in IE Address bar and press Enter.

Step-2:    Type Username as admin and password  as admin and click on Log In Button.

Step-3:    Click on Interface Setup Button on the top row.

Step-4:    Scroll down the page, delete the old password and Type the New Password as you have changed in www.dataone.in site. Scroll down the page further and click on SAVE button.

Step-5:    Click on Maintenance button on the top row.

Step-6:  Click on SysRestart link in the second row.

Step-7:  By default Current Settings Radio Button is selected. Click on RESTART button.

Step-8:  "Please wait for reboot complete!" message box will appear. Click on OK button.

Step-9:  After sometime, "Reboot Complete!" message box will appear. Click on OK button.

 

Now the Log In screen will appear again. Now close the Internet Explorer. Allow the lamps to settle. You have successfully changed the password in UT300R2U modem.

 

Having changed the password, go to internet protocol (TCP/IP) properties again and take off the IP Address assigned by selecting Obtain IP address automatically radio button.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

No Link:

 

Please check whether the connections are firm between rosette, splitter and modem.  If the connections are interchanged in the splitter, the link will blink and will not become stable. (The wire coming from the exchange should be connected directly tothe Line jack of the splitter. Modem should be connected to the Modem or ADSL jack of the splitter and Phone should be coonected to the Phone jack of the splitter)

Please check whether you are using a lengthy PVC wire from the modem to the splitter. (The wire from the modem to the splitter should not be more than 1-1/2 meters.

PLEASE NOTE: No telephone extension cabling is to be used to connect the modem to the splitter, as this was not designed to carry a broadband signal.

SPLITTER CONNECTIVITY:

Check whether the RJ-11 Jack from the modem goes to the Modem Socket of the Splitter and Telephone is connected to the Phone socket of the splitter.

Ask the customer whether he/she is using lengthy PVC cord (Extension cable) from the modem to the splitter.
